I ordered delivery, and wow…this is easily the best soul food I've had in a long time. My entire family agreed.

We ordered the fried chicken dinner with mac and cheese and collard greens, plus a fried pork chop. What I loved most is that the food wasn't overloaded with powdered seasonings or heavy-handed spices. The flavors spoke for themselves, and you can tell the recipes come from tradition and generations of good cooking.

The collard greens were amazing. No sugary taste at all, which was a huge plus for me. They were so good that even someone like me, who normally doesn't like collard greens, was going back for more.

The fried chicken was seasoned perfectly, not too salty, just flavorful and downright delicious. But the fried pork chop? That was the star of the show. Crispy, juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Absolutely incredible.

The mac and cheese was delicious too. If I could give this place a 10 I would, but five stars is the limit!

I recently tried another soul food spot, and it didn't even come close to this. I'm so glad I found this restaurant because it's officially our go-to whenever we're craving soul food. I hate wasting money on bad food, and this place was worth every penny.

The people the are very friendly. They were very attentive and the service was great.
I had the 6 pork ribs with Mac and cheese and collard green with cornbread and my hubby had the 3 piece fried whiting fish with red bean and rice and cabbage.
The ribs was really good and so was the greens but I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese it was dry and didn't have no real taste to it. My hubby liked the fish but said that his red beans and rice was very dry and he didn't like the cabbage either. Even though there was things that we didn't like we will give them another shot and try them again.

We were visiting from Texas for our son’s hockey team playoffs and hosted a team lunch. Found Vickey’s - and am so happy we did. Such friendly people, they let me sample some sides, guided me through how much to order, and everyone loved the food. Really reasonable prices too. Grilled chicken was incredible, the pound cake was spectacular. We also got the ribs (fall off the bone), pulled pork (they threw in slider buns), mac n cheese, coleslaw, collared greens, corn bread, sweet potato pie and cobbler. The feast was amazing and since we were at an Airbnb we didn’t have enough plates - so the person who delivered our food actually drove back with more plates. We are so grateful to have found Vickey’s and had them cater a memorable and delicious bbq lunch party! Thank you - from the entire Texas Tigers hockey team.

I was so disappointed in this place!!! The staff was very friendly however they messed up my order and then gave me pork gravy instead of chicken gravy after I specifically asked about them using pork products, and telling them I couldn’t eat it. I was sick as a dog!!!!! Also my wings weren’t cooked all the way, they were kind of “gummy” when I tried to pull them apart. Never again and I mean NEVER!!

I was at the 807 Wallace Avenue Hosanna House Wilkinsburg, PA 15221 location and when I mean it was a delightful experience, I mean that wholeheartedly!!!!! Delicious! They make a mean fried pork chop, and their Mac and cheese, yams, and cornbread are even better. Husband enjoyed their greens, rice, and chicken as well.
The name may say "restaurant and catering," but this is the closest you can get to home cooked and they really came to our rescue today with that. My husband travels a lot, so, when he arrives home from a trip, I always try to make something nice for dinner, something homemade that he can't really get from a restaurant/airport/hotel. Well, today I forgot to defrost something, (oops) but Vickey's had me covered! It was so good that, next trip, I may just "forget" to defrost something on purpose! 🤣

I usually enjoy whatever I order from VSG, but yesterday, I was extremely disappointed. I ordered 3 wings, mac and cheese, and yam juice.

The wings were crispy on the outside but not fully cooked on the inside. The meat was gummy and had a cranberry color ( like dried blood) around the bones and meat. Yuck and yikes!

The Mac and cheese would've been better if some of the noodles weren't crunchy and if the cheese on top was fully melted.

Also, when I phoned in my order, I was unaware that they now have 2 locations. One in Penn Hills ( cater events) and the other in Wilkinsburg ( Hosanna House dine in/ take out). Guess which one I went to 1st.🤦🏽‍♀️

It’s a NO. $30 and I threw it in trash. It’s extremely overpriced for what I received in quality . I got smothered chicken, Mac n cheese and greens. The smothered chicken seem to be a unseasoned fried chicken with jar r gravy on top over a very sparse, thin bed of yellow rice. Macaroni and cheese had a weird chemical taste to it. The greens were real, but weren’t very appealing with all the other food. Corn bread was blah. The young lady that took my order seemed to be very attentive and pleasant though. I won’t be returning.

This is first time🕕 eating from this place.. It was a Mother's Day treat. My mom and I thought the food was delicious.👌🏽🙌🏾 I had oxtails with rice, mac n cheese, green beans and yams.. Cornbread was included was dry 🏜 and I could have done without but my Mom seems to love it because she soaked hers in 🧈 butter. The Oxtails was highlight of my dish.. It was so tender and flavorful. The downside and reason I gave 4 stars is because there was a hair👎🏽🤦🏽‍♀️ in the oxtail/rice portion. Maybe because it was the busiest weekend, Mother's day. Idk. I was alittle grossed 🤮out for a moment but it didn't take away from how great 🙂most of the food was. They just need better hair nets!!!‼️‼️ My mom also think the price 💲💲💲of sweet potato pie 🥧was alittle high for size of a slice.

My first impression of walking in was it smelled like your favorite aunts house. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is inviting. The waitress was very nice and was great at making sure she suggested things to give us just what we needed. The Cod dinner I had was in a to go container although I ate there. The aroma was so fulfilling it was like having an appetizer. My fish was cooked to perfection. Crispy on outside and flaky on the inside. Seasoned perfect a nice thick filet. Make cheese had that snap back on it delicious. Cornbread soft and buttery and greens seasoned like Thanksgiving. I was able to meet Ms Vickie.she is kind loves what she does and is serious about how she delivers service. Hands down the best soulfood spot in the city. I'm willing to argue about it. Lol. This restaurant has yummy flavorful food. I love getting take out from here after work if I don’t want to cook. Clearly you can see I prefer the two chop/ two sides option but I did also try the chicken. Note the golden color of the seasoned batter on the wings. I like their dessert cakes also. Ordered $70 worth of food 2 dinners and extra couple sides to try being 1st time. I cook soul food I know what it's supposed to taste like. This food was terrible! My sister and I went to an event there on 12/10, and the food was sooooo good!!! That was the best fried chicken I have EVER had at a restaurant. Hostess very friendly and helpful. Was told the wait was so long because they were changing the grease in the fryer. Would think that would be done when the establishment is closed, but ok. After waiting 45 minutes, with 2 other take out customers, the only hot dish was the almost done chicken. Knew the food wasnt hot when I was handed the bag. The mac & cheese was more cheese than mac, ok pork ribs, bland yellow cake. The best dish was the the greens. Was offered a canned pepsi, for the long wait. Ordered food at 4:00 got the food at 6:50 two-piece meal was two drumsticks no cornbread no buns no discount for her forgetting she put us on hold for 20 minutes. Forgot to put the order in and was supposed to get the food at 4:40 and received it at 6:50. Terrible terrible terrible way to run a business. Should have at least offered a discount. We had a church meeting at Vickey’s today. Then a buffet was set up with our food. The service was outstanding Vickey and her team were professional and gracious. Every time I speak to someone about this new restaurant it's never good they always say it's to expensive for such small portions of food are they are saying that the food is terrible and I was going to try it but way to many people are not saying good things about this place I will pass and save my hard earned money 💰

I wish I could give no stars ordered pork chops cabbage and potato salad got soggy pork chops and 2 orders of cabbage and they don't offer refunds I will never order from here again offered me more food NO THANKS!

Just stopped by here on a whim with my husband to get lunch, and, man, are we glad we did. I don't have any pictures of our food, because we devoured everything so quickly. My husband and I are southern transplants, so we're usually very skeptical when it comes to southern food restaurants here in the north. However, we are skeptics no longer. We both had the catfish, which was some of the best catfish we've ever had... Seasoned and cooked just right. My husband raved about the baked beans, and we both loved the collard greens. We're not "mall" people, but I think we'll make an exception in this case so we can get more of Vickey's delicious food!

I purchased two chicken legs from the childrens menu and they were both severly dried out and tasteless. My side of yams were Okay but I am glad I didn't order the dinner ! They say check your order before you leave because once you leave the counter all sales are final. Yet they wrap it all up instead of letting you see what they gave you to keep from having to unwrap right there at the counter. I asked several questions and at one point the owner yelled out " oh my goodness and added some heavy puffing like I had no right to ask questions about the portions

Wow the turkey ribs here are a most grab I keep coming back for them. The Mac and cheese is wonderful. The yams need a little more candied to my taste but I’m a big guy so it’s probably the sugar diabetes lol. The portion size for price here are this establishments only downfall. They definitely charge you top dollar and that’s probably because of the location but these prices rival something like a roscoes chicken and waffles without all the fame and draw. However, when don’t wife spoke with the staff the owner rectified our concerns with a quick fix and made sure the customer was happy. Happy customers make more business. Will shop again hope to get more bang for the buck food wise. But it’s a must try kudos to the chef and front end staff.

I recently did a photoshoot for a food delivery company for Vickey. She was kind enough to send me home with samples of many dishes she offers. Her food is amazing. The fried chicken was crispy and the breading was delicious. Chicken was moist and cooked perfectly. The spare ribs melt in you mouth! Of all the sides I sampled, the mashed potatoes and yams were my favorite. The greens were seasoned well and very good. The smothered pork chop was tender and delicious. If you are in Monroeville Mall, stop by Vickey's and you won't be disappointed! Vickey is sweet and puts her heart and soul into each dish she cooks. (PS try the house kool-aid!)
