I am leaving this review to alert other customers about an improper billing practice at this establishment.

When paying our bill with a debit card, we were charged a processing surcharge. Under major payment network rules (Visa and Mastercard), merchants are strictly prohibited from adding a surcharge to debit card transactions, regardless of whether the card is run with a PIN or run "as credit."

When we brought this violation to the attention of the older blonde woman at the bar who was running the restaurant that evening. She claimed it was an "issue with their merchant services and there’s nothing they can do.” This is incorrect. Modern point-of-sale systems have explicit settings to apply surcharges only to credit cards while automatically bypassing debit cards. If a system is charging debit cards, it is because the restaurant configured it incorrectly.

It is the restaurant's responsibility to set up their compliance rules correctly, not the customer’s responsibility to pay for a system error. The woman did finally give us back the service charge in cash, but I can’t imagine how many times a day they are doing the same thing and no one realizes it!!

The waitress was great. Food was decent. Please consider putting the sauces on the side. Too heavy on the sauces and way too much. We ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer and it was covered in ranch dressing, the mac and cheese with mild buffalo sauce and it was inedible due to the sauce. Same with the cheese burger salad. Way too much sauce and the sauces were gross! Sauce on the side please!

I don’t normally leave reviews but the bartender, Helen, did an amazing job tonight and I felt that she deserved some sort of recognition which warranted this essay. In terms of an actual review of this place, if you like good food, cold beer and great drinks this is your spot. If you want drama keep reading but that’s up to you. These are purely my own views and don’t reflect anyone else’s views that were there, although I’m sure the folks I talked to after have very similar thoughts…

Some random lady came in and tried to make a scene towards the end of the night as I was stoping by for a pint after a long day. Quite frankly, Helen handled everything very professionally and then appologize to me about the whole thing, which wasn’t even her fault. She’s amazing and handled it all better than I or certainly any of the lads that I know in the service industry would have. How you can try and help someone that is being rude/ignorant is beyond me, but I think we can all learn a lesson on kindness from Helen after dealing with all that. Hands down, this is a great place with good food and cold beer. It’s folks like Helen that keep this place great. The second you think you can pull a total Karen in front of a whole bar (well, I guess the 10 or so people who were in there about 20 mins before closing) and your own kids to get out of something that is above her pay grade is purely shameful and deserves some deep internal review. I would never be as rude as you were because my mother would have washed my mouth with soap, if not worse! Honestly, who ever you are, you need to take a deep and intentional look at yourself as you probably are going to write some slanderous review when you sober up (yea I heard you slurred your words across the bar). SHAME ON YOU! Worst part is you don’t even tip your server who I know HUSTLES from the hand full of times I’ve been in here? Not even her fault and you’re gonna punish her? Go back to Jersey if you wanna power trip on some poor folks who are just trying to pay their mortgage! I try to follow the principal that people are ignorant rather then malicious but I think you are honestly a lot of both, SHAME.

But yea, it’s a nice clean bar with good service and better food, certainly worth a stop if you’re passing by.

Love the food, drinks, atmosphere, and that most of the staff is friendly, but they really need to update their posted hours of operation. They state that they’re open until 2am Friday and Saturday both online and on their signage. However, I’ve visited four times over six months, and they’ve closed anywhere between 10:00-11:15pm each time. It’s a convenient location when my friends visit from out of town, but we’re always disappointed to have to close up early when we expected to stay until around midnight (which would still be well before their listed closing time).

Disappointing experience. We ordered our burgers cooked to a specific temperature, but they missed the mark completely. The fries came out looking pale instead of a proper golden brown. Won't be rushing back. We've had takeout burgers before from there and they were delicious but I don't know what happened tonight.

First time visit and my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. Plenty of different cocktails. We had a pear martini and pear old fashioned. Both unique and very good.
The brussel sprouts were fantastic. My wife and I think it was a Dijon mustard. Fantastic. I decided to get crazy and try the Memphis burger. Peanut butter, bacon and a banana jam. Anyone thinking its insane to mix these ingredients is wrong. It actually works. We both loved it. Great joint to have good food and drinks and watch the game. Well done

Amazong service, astronomical food, great place all around! We've been wanting to try this place since the change and the fact their open Tuesdays unlike many places got us in the door! Steak Alfrado was perfect, bacon burger on burger night $5 off special was incredible and the fries were awesome! So much space, wouldnt reccomend sitting outside as the crosswalk lights blare constantly and can be annoying depending on where youre sitting, but other than that everything else was perfect and we'll definitely be returning!

Catering- My family hosted my 50th birthday upstairs at Queen City. The food was amazing overall. We have ate there before and the catering is catering was of the same supreme quality. The temperature and taste stayed perfect throughout our experience. The staff was always there when we needed them, but never in the way. We will use them for more catering events.

My wife and I stopped into Queen City Tavern as a walk-in party of two in the late afternoon, and we had an excellent experience from start to finish. The restaurant was not too busy, and we were greeted quickly by a very friendly hostess who made us feel welcome right away.
The recent remodel was beautifully done and created a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Everything looked fresh, clean, and well thought out, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
For our entrees, we ordered the Burger of the Month and the special cold roast beef sandwich. The burger was outstanding—easily one of my top 10 burgers of all time. It was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and the quality of both the meat and toppings really stood out. The cold roast beef sandwich was equally impressive. The roast beef was clearly homemade and incredibly flavorful, and the spicy horseradish sauce complemented it perfectly.
Both meals came with fries that were crispy, golden, and cooked exactly the way fries should be. We also started with the BBQ wontons, which were absolutely incredible and a perfect way to begin the meal.
The service throughout our visit was friendly, attentive, and fast. The restaurant itself was immaculate, which only added to the overall experience.
One thing that really stood out was the value. Our two meals and appetizer came to under $50, which is exceptional considering the quality of the food and service we received.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience and exactly what we've come to expect from a Basalyga Hospitality restaurant. We will definitely be back, and we're looking forward to returning for dinner soon. Highly recommended!

The staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome. The appetizer was pulled pork fries for $15.00. The portion of fries was underwhelming but the pork portion was larger than expected. They missed an opportunity to make a wow moment with a larger order of fries. We got the chicken tenders and a meatball parm hoagie. They were both very good. My fries were a large portion but a mix of old and new fries so some too hot to eat while the next was too cold to eat. My husband got all new hot fries. So the meal was hit and miss. The staff was great, the place looked great but in the end, the food was just OK.

We recently discovered QCT and it instantly became a new favorite! The atmosphere is modern yet cozy and the service impeccable. We felt like we had been going for years! The menu has a ton of options and is super accommodating for allergies, specifically calling out gluten free options which is really important to me. There is a variety of beer and cocktail options - best dirty martini around! Highly recommend visiting!

The olderish blonde bartender really ruined this experience for us. We wanted to love this place because we loved OTown and Molly Maguires. There was only a few other people at the bar when we arrived, I’m not sure if she was planning to leave or something because as soon as she saw us sit down she sighed and kind of shook her head? We’ve never been there before so I’m not sure what the problem was, I just went with my wife after work for some drinks. Love this place!! I recently had an event here and every single person who attended raved about the food, the atmosphere, the drinks, the staff, everything. The food is absolutely delicious!! We hosted our first ever Christmas Shop at the Tavern with the help of GM, Justin. Him and his team were beyond accommodating and offered to help in any way possible. We also ordered food while we were there and thoroughly enjoyed it all. 3 of us had burgers, they were cooked perfectly and flavor was great, the other was mac and cheese topped with pulled pork, and that was also great flavor. Wife got the grilled wing bite wrap and I got the tavern Mac with pulled pork on top and also the tavern fries with mild sauce and boneless bites. After waiting hour we got our food only to be disappointed. My wife took one bite of the wrap and had to throw it out. Wrap was completely soggy. Mild sauce was straight liquid. No flavor. I ate half of my Mac. Ate the other half the next day and it wrecked my stomach. Honestly feels like food poisoning it hurt that bad. The fries came plain and we had to add the sauce ourselves and the bites. The sauce was so liquidy that it was basically like pouring water on top. I’ll never eat here again and wasted close to $50. Stay far away from the food.

UPDATE- I was there at 6 and waited until it was done at 6:20. That is when I picked up the food. So the food was not sitting. It tasted horrible and wish I had my money back

My wife ordered two meals 1. The outlaw burger with fries and 2. Chicken strips with fries . The burger sad to say was soulless both burger patty and pulled pork were flavorless and bland . The most flavor I got from this burger was the caramelized onion that were not caramazlized . The French fries were supposed to be loaded instead we're just swinging in some watered down sauce . UPDATE: They fired their old chef, stopped upcharging for specific sauces and this chef actually knows how to temp a burger and make sauces the right way!!!!

I really hate to do this because this place was something special before they closed and reopened. When they reopened they changed a lot. They jacked up prices, they lowered quality and the chef doesn't know how to temp a burger.

When Red Robin does a better job at

Going here makes me really miss O-town. This place is dreadful. I went with my 4 friends last night, and 4 out of 5 of us ordered dishes and it just tasted dry, lifeless, and like the chef did not put any care in our food at all. That was not the biggest problem of my night though, it was the waitress that served us at the bar. She was older and had blonde hair. Apparently, she had a problem with us talking at the bar and with us having a good time, because I noticed she would roll her eyes everytime we opened our mouth or ask for another drink. At one point in the night she just told us to stop talking because we were laughing about something. Also, my one friend wanted a water, and she whined about that. Just as our checks were about to be handed back to us, I was in the bathroom, and when I came back, she literally rushed me and said, “Hurry up and sign your check already.” She was such a mood killer. So I left her with a 10% tip. I would have tipped her less, because after we were about to walk out of the door, she started complaining to herself that she wants to quit because she hates her job. I do not recommend this place to anyone. All the restaurant has to compensate for is having a second floor, big whoop. I can get better food and service from a happy meal at McDonalds compared to this dumpster fire.

This place was great from the first warm greating to the last delicious bite to the final bill! Food was DELICIOUS! Service was EXCEPTIONAL!! Prices were more than reasonable! The manager was awesome, very present, informative and friendly!! Long story short, you get way more than you pay for in a beautiful local spot! Tried to say something on Facebook and my comment was deleted. Went on Saturday and it was not busy when we got there. Ordered two burgers and some chicken tenders all with fries. After 40 minutes of waiting, waitress came by and said our food will be out in a couple minutes. Fifteen minutes go by and we ask her to cancel our food that it was not busy when came in. I was in for my first time last night and for as bombarded and busy as it was I can't believe how well the staff did! I would have lost my mind if that many people walked into a place at once! Having had owned my own smaller restaurant down south I can tell you how trying the public can be. I'm assuming the gentleman behind the bar ( and everywhere else as well) ( I think his name was Justin) still smiled and showed great leadership as the whole place was swamped all at once. I was really excited to try this place but I was quickly disappointed, and regretted driving here from Scranton.
We parked 3 blocks away as there weren’t any open spaces nearby.
Service was terrible. There was a wait before we were asked for our drink order at which point we placed our food order as well. My son was served the incorrect drink and note if you sit upstairs and order a draft they must go downstairs for it.
Once our meals were served we realized we were short one setting. My husband let myself and my son eat while we waited for someone to check on us to ask for a fork. Well, that wasn’t until we were ready for boxes so he had watched us eat while he picked as his fries. We were then promptly provided with our check and a $5 discount for the inconvenience which would’ve been fine if my son didn’t want desert which we were not offered.
One out of 3 meals were enjoyed. My $28 salmon was delicious. Mac and cheese and fried fish were bland.

They did an awesome job with the remodel. It’s very welcoming.

I'll stick with the Olde Brook Inn.

The absolute worst dining experience ever!There is not one good thing I could say about my experience.I completely understand that you just reopened and it takes time to get things up to par but this was issue after issue after issue and it kept going.I can spend an hour explaining this experience but it is just not worth it. Also the “Manager”, was completely rude throughout the entire ordeal.You should never treat customers like we were all treated.Inexperienced, unprofessional, rude!The worst part is we received no apology from the waitress or manager. Plain and simple,we will NOT be back!

Stopped in for dinner with my family, waitress was phenomenal, drinks were delicious but took a ridiculous amount of time to come from the bar, our food came out cold and was extremely small portions for large pricing. The waitress was apologetic, manager just said “please try us again” 🤔 I’m not one to leave reviews, but this was just meh, first and last visit.

I'm gluten free so hearing they had a dedicated gf fryer made me really excited. I went for wing night with some friends. Staff was knowledgeable about ingredients and made sure my order was kept gf. It was the first time I had wings in a really long time, and they were delicious. I enjoyed every bit of my experience here and will be looking forward to my next visit!

Tonight was my 4th time at Queen City Tavern. I'm beyond thrilled with the service. I'm also a Celiac and am thrilled QCT takes special care preparing my food. Before I discovered QCT it had been 9 years since I last had chicken wings in a restaurant. It is an understatement to say I'm beyond happy to have a location to meet and eat with friends without fear of cross contact. The food is always excellent and the service is wonderful. I love the welcoming atmosphere too.

We stopped in on a Monday night to give it a try and there are not many local options open on a Monday. Justin was an amazing bar tender and was so knowledgeable of the menus. He help me pick out a flight of Wing sauce and talk through other menu options. The wings were amazing. I mentioned I like wings crispy, but not over cooked. The wings came out perfect. I also had the chicken sand-which on a pretzel roll that was in special. again , spit on! Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

I went to Queen city Tavern for the first time yesterday thinking it was o town not knowing it was under new management, however, the general manager approached us and stat us was very polite very friendly. My whiskey sour was great however, the food is definitely no comparison to an o town used to have the burgers you could tell. It was a frozen patty and it was no bigger than a McDonald’s quarter pounder.. their fresh cut fries are not fresh cut fries. You could tell they’re frozen from a bag and their kids grilled cheese was basically melted cheese on lightly toasted bread. The only thing that I thought was decent was the four mozzarella medallions that you could tell they bread and friy there but for $12 for four silver dollar size medallions not really a good deal. I was disappointed on the $20 apple pie burger that was a size of a McDonald’s burger it had a good taste but you would expect a fresh ground burger and something similar to a bud size burger which are now all bigger than a Big Mac. And someone else at the table had the mac & cheese thinking it was going to be somewhat comparable to o towns, but it was a small portion. Use the same noodles, different cheese sauce, and a similar wing sauce. It’s a good place. If you wanna go have a few drinks and then order cause then you really won’t be bothered, but if you go there sober to order food, you will be disappointed nothing like o town. The general manager told me the queen has risen. I think she died and maybe went to heaven because The food there was definitely not worth going to again.

My wife and I had the best burgers 🍔 and fries that we have had!!!! The General Manager Justin and waitress were fantastic, they were very attentive to our table even though it was a completely packed dining room.
We highly recommend Queen City Tavern!
So Happy it’s here in Olyphant and we don’t have to travel far to have a delicious meal with fantastic service!!!!

Queen City Tavern will be my new weekly spot! Last night my family and I celebrated my fathers retirement at Queen City Tavern and it was and incredible experience. We had a party of 8 and everyone agreed that the food was out of this world! The staff was so accommodating especially Justin and Adam, they did an excellent job with tending to our large party, walking us through the menu and providing recommendations! We had the opportunity to meet the chef and he is truly a master at his craft! It was so refreshing to meet a chef who thrives on being creative and looks for customers feedback. We had everything from the Apple Pie burger, Buffalo bites, burger salad, French onion soup, patty melt and lobster bisque, everything was incredible!! Overall this was a great experience and my family and I will definitely highly recommend!!

Couldn't see the menu from how dark it was the restaurant. Food was greasy, overpriced, and falling apart when served. Alcoholic drinks were overpriced and didn't have several ingredients for the speciality drinks on drink menu. Only one server for the entire sitting area, although he did well, there were too many people for one person to take care of. One other "server" was taking care of a single table, and seemed to be related to the management or owner

Disappointed in my communication with this restaurant. I called today to inquire about a reservation for 12 people a few days from now. The woman who answered said they don't accept reservations, which I understand, but with such a large group I thought it appropriate to call. What the heck happened to this restaurant? We used to order from here all the time and tonight we ordered delivery and this is the $22 Cesar salad!? 5 croutons and the chicken is melting the plastic container 😕Overdone kids chicken tenders an there are only 2 eggrolls in the steak and cheese app (there used to be 3 or 4 last time we ate there). Not worth it anymore. Very disappointed.
