I am so grateful to have shared my birthday dinner here at pizzaiolo primo. She even went above and beyond to even add a special treat at the end of the evening. 10/10. Highly recommend!!! We had a great experience at Pizzaiolo Primo celebrating my mom’s birthday! Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the hospitality was outstanding. There was a small mix-up with my chicken Parmesan, which I didn’t mind at all, but the chef went above and beyond by making me a whole new meal to take home and personally bringing it to our table. That level of care and customer service really stood out! We also brought in a birthday cake, and the staff was kind enough to cut it for us. Everyone was so welcoming, and the entire experience made for a great birthday dinner. We’ll definitely be back!

Returned after having a not so great experience when first opened. We were greeted/seated right away by the kindest manager. Server was great as well. Calamari and fried mozzarella was fantastic. As was the espresso martini. My pizza was also incredible. My oldest got carbonara, which was sooo salty and not good. My youngest got buttered noodles because there wasn’t anything else he’d eat (no chicken fingers or Mac). Going to stick with apps and pizza and not bring little ones as the kids menu is limited and expensive for a bowl of buttered noodles.

We just ate there two of us on a Sunday afternoon a calzone and a salad 64 dollars Diet Coke and two draft beers. The calzone if you could call it that . It had a little bit of meat a ton of cheese that tasted like dirt and no sauce we had to wait for salt and pepper to be brought to the table for the salad. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to summon her from the bus boy three times. Ask for more sauce for the calzone before she even said yes she says there’s going to be an up charge. By the time she got back with the sauce, the calzone was cold. The service if we could rate her a negative four we would have. I am known for leaving large tips for even mediocre service. She got three dollars, which was $1.50 more than what I should have. Never again

Update: Spoke with GM today. No excuses just a we will do better and wants to prove it. Awesome response, everyone makes a mistake or has a bad day. They are willing to make it right. We will give them the opportunity in the near future.

We stopped here for an early Sunday lunch on our way to a Pirates game. There was plenty of parking and we were seated right away. Our server was super friendly and knew all the menu details. Everything we ordered came out quickly and was delicious! We started with the arancini appetizer. I could've eaten a whole plate of these myself. My son had a Caesar salad and the homemade gnocchi with meatball. He loved it. My husband and I shared the margherita pizza and a funghi pizza. They were cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven right in view of the dining room. So much flavor and a nice, crispy crust. We will be back!

Careful ordering online for takeout, for one it will provide a pickup time in ~30 minutes, and you'll get an ice cold pizza. Second, the online ordering interfaces are horrible. Apparently checking the box on salad options means you do not want those things. So I got half a head of chopped lettuce.

Had a great experience here and loved the hot honey weekend special pizza. But what topped it off was the service. I had saved most of my pizza to-go excited to have it for lunch the next day only to realize when I got home late that night I left the box of leftovers on the table in the restaurant. I called the next morning thinking there was no chance they kept them. I arrived to pick them up and they had made me a fresh pizza! Above and beyond service and so thoughtful!

We came here for lunch on a Monday (Labor Day). It wasn't crowded at all and the hostess sat us by the bar. It took at least 10 minutes to take our drinks orders and by then we knew what we wanted for food too. The pizza was ok and just enough for lunch.

I went to this place not to long ago with my family and it was a pretty nice experience! They give u free bread infused with rosemary and it is so delicious, they also give u a little dipping side for the bread which is olive oil and balsamic vinegar and it mixes together super well. After that we got the caprese salad and it was super good, the mozzerelle was perfectly firm and tasted very nice. The tomatoes were very flavorfui and the perfect amount of ripe. But there wasnt much basil which im a bit dissappointed about, But its fine cus the balsamic dressing was nice and sour which i like. After that i got the Linguini Florentina which was alright, i expected more but i was missing a lot of flavor. Except for the shrimp which i normally dont eat because i dont like shrimp much but it was very flavorful and good. it had a mild lemon and cheese taste but mostly js tasted like the pasta and not the butter, white wine, cheese, or any of the lemon. The sundried tomatoes and spinach were perfect tho, and when i did dip the rosemary bread into the pasta juices it was fantastic. My brother got the Margherita Pizza and he said it was the 2nd best margherita pizza hes ever had! he said it was just a littleee bit too cheesy for him, but it didnt stop him from eating all of it. they also give u soda in glass bottles and they have mexican coke which is awesome sauce. My mom got carbonara and they said it was yummy but needed more cheese which they added. And my stepdad got cacio e pepe im pretty sure which he liked and ate all of. The lemonade was kind of bad and mostly js tastes like water which is fine, they have a huge wine selection and a pretty big non alchoholic section like sodas (in the bottle like i said earlier) and other stuff. You have the choice to box the food urself or u can let them take it and they box it for u which is nice but i feel is a bit unnecessary. There is also a nice bar area with tv's around it but it does look a bit crowded with how close the chairs are. I will definitely be returning here and getting a dif pasta!

We had lunch here today, and I can honestly say that I have found my new favorite restaurant. I was immediately taken with even the dishes and glassware. We started with the arancini which was served with, easily, the best marinara sauce I have ever had. I had the cacio e pepe for my main course, and it was stellar. The spaghetti was cooked to a perfect al dente, and the flavor was excellent and well-balanced. I never finish a restaurant portion of pasta these days, but I polished it off today. Couldn't help myself. I was so full that I wanted a nap. The service was fun, friendly, and helpful from the minute we walked in, but never overbearing. Our server was Amanda, and she is a total rockstar, and full of enthusiasm. I can't wait to go back, and next time, I will TRY to save room for dessert. This place is an order of magnitude better than what was previously in this location. IYKYK.

First time at Pizzaiolo. Came in with wife for our anniversary and had a fantastic time. Wonderful food and interior atmosphere. The pizza reminded me of my trip to Naples Italy. This was my second time there. I went when this opened and the service was as bad as the first time. I put that first visit experience to getting the kinks out. I want this place to succeed, but when your regular menu pricing and service is not commensurate to the value it delivers, then you may not last. The happy hour is a great value for food and drinks; however that totally doesn't matter when your service does not. I arrived at 4:50 p.m. and sat at the bar. There was a total of 6 customers at the bar, including the friends i was meeting. It took about 10 minutes for the bartender to even acknowledge me and that was after 2 folks walked in and he gave them menus and drinks, then finally came over to me. I have no issue waiting when a place is busy, but at the least acknowledge that you see the customer. I suggest management should do a post game review by looking at video of how service is delivered. There is a reason why the place on the other end is consistently busy and they don't even have specials like this place. They deliver consistent service as well as consistent food.

As an industry person I am usually pretty skeptical of trying new restaurants. My family and I came here and we went all in. Drinks, apps, entrees, desserts, limoncello and coffee and I enjoyed every bit of it. My family agreed. The arancini, meatballs and charcuterie were nice. My entree, the cavatelli was flavorful, not too oily or salty and the greens were great! Our server Dylan did a great job. The service was thorough and professional. Food was very good, server was terrible. Took more than 20 minutes just to get drinks, then another 10 to order. We had to ask for the free bread and she responded that she didn’t grab us any because they were out. Many tables that came after us had gotten bread, and we watched another table get some after they were “out”. She never apologized, and wasn’t even going to mention the bread until we asked. Overall, she was extremely impatient, wouldn’t look at us when she spoke, and seemed to have an attitude. I’m a server myself, and I understand the job can be very difficult, but there is never a reason for service this poor.

Wife and I dined here and the food was not great. Wife had pasta that was so salty that the next day day her lips were dry and salty she felt like she was swimming in the ocean for 24 hours straight. I salt ice cream and chocolate bars but it was too salty for me to enjoy. My chicken Marsala was terribly dry with mediocre sauce just dumped on top. They must precook their chicken for the day and set it in the warmer to be covered in different sauces for the menu later. Honestly a McDonalds grilled chicken sandwich would have been a better choice. The chicken was just too tough to chew.
I originally posted this review after eating there a month ago and the restaurant replied to the post with an offer to make it right, i messaged the restaurant giving them the opportunity to do so and deleted my review to give them the chance to improve. I have been ghosted since deleting my review. This establishment does not deserve to be taking business away from great restaurants in our area like Ginny’s and A slice of New York. Restaurants that care taking care or neighborhood customers and not pretending to “make your experience right”, with no follow through.

The food and drinks were both so good!!! Both times that we have been they have told us that we could not sit in the patio area. The first time they said, it might rain later ( it’s a covered patio and it never rained) and the second time they said it was too hot. It’s the summer and it’s a patio- that’s the point! Place def should close down i havent even got my $ back. And pizza was like white paper thin, toppings were slipping off fast, soggy dough food, burnt & $30 for the 6 small slice of pizza's & pizza also tasted weird. Also no sauce was added. Server took too long & never bother to call me plus she seemed mad sketchy like if she did'nt know how to work plus she looked at my pizza to see if it looked good like who looks at someone's food & she did'nt bother to tell me the price. Plus I had a procedure done same day I didnt eat in 20 hrs so yeah never going here again. Let me start with the positives. The location is lovely. It feels spacious and streamlined. The service is impeccable. Our waiter was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. The focaccia bread that's offered while you wait for your meal is fantastic - pillowy and herby and just plain delicious.
Now for the not-so-positive. The prices are too high. I know you're paying for a dining experience, and as a baker, I appreciate the time and craftsmanship that goes into handmade pasta and bread, but the price point is still above what I would consider reasonable.
The food is good, especially the breads. But I felt everything lacked acid. The crab & artichoke dip was tasty, but it needed to be served with lemon wedges to really wake up the flavor. Our pizza, topped with prosciutto, arugula and roasted cherry tomatoes, fell flat without a tangy balsamic drizzle. Finishing touches like that would take the food from good to great. But all in all, a very pleasant (if expensive) experience.

Went there for our wedding anniversary trying a new restaurant to make it special Atmosphere was very nice and upscale,waitress was very nice and informative since we told her it was our first experience there. The waitress did inform us we arrived at a good time because it does get noisy . It was around 4:45 and only a few patrons and was not noisy at all. The food was so so we order two pizzas because of the size (about 11 inches in size). I ordered the Bianca pizza which was bland and unimpressive wife said hers was fine. Ordered two salads @$8 and mozzarella rounds @15 and the two pizzas , bill was $84 before a tip. Not worth the price

Pizzaiolo Primo is a great spot for a night out! The restaurant looks really nice inside and has a fancy vibe that makes it feel like a special occasion. First time there and absolutely loved it. Food was amazing, service was very good, atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server Madison was great and recommended the Chicken Marsala with Mushrooms which was excellent. My husband had salmon and loved it!. We travel often and he said the Salmon was top three in all of our travels. We split bread pudding for dessert, and it was amazing. Everything is quality ingredients and homemade. Would like to try their lunch menu next as the dinner was fantastic.

We have dined there twice now. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great. Our server Madison (tall brunette) was superb with minimal wait time for our meals. If you are well traveled, you understand the authentic ingredients and Italian way of cooking means most pastas are al dente which is a culture shock to some that are used to the overcooked pasta at most local restaurants. (It’s all in what you prefer I suppose). Also, you get what you pay for. If you are expecting a $12 plate of pasta with a protein or an $8 pizza grab your coupons and maybe dine somewhere more in your budget.

I see several negative reviews here from others. Certainly entitled to your opinion, but realize the place just opened. They have 💯 new staff from hosts to servers to cooks and are quickly putting it all together as they move forward. All things considered, I think it’s a great place to dine and we’ll definitely be going back soon.

PS… the bread pudding is the star of the show (among other dishes)

Ordering takeout from this place makes you feel exactly like a New York City rat. They literally force you into a dark back alley, right next to the dumpsters, to wait outside a locked, unmarked door with no lighting. You just have to pray someone opens it, shoves the food at you, and lets you scurry away. When we confronted management about how terrible this setup is and how the door is locked, nobody answered after 5 minutes and I was stuck in the cold, they treated us like pests instead of paying customers.

We’ve dined there probably ten times now. All great experiences. Food was excellent, atmosphere was inviting, and the staff (albeit all new and still learning), were very nice and hospitable. Our meals come out timely. The manager Dave introduced himself and was very nice to our family. We have tried several dishes including the salmon which was superb, pizza which was wood fired and very tasty, , chicken parm, pasta, lunch sandwiches, and opted for the bread pudding for dessert each time which is top notch. Probably the best dessert I’ve had in a while. All authentic ingredients and definitely a step above the surrounding Italian restaurants in the area. Their bar is really nice to with very reasonable happy hour specials both food & drink. We definitely plan on returning soon.

My wife and I have been here several times now and we can’t say enough good things about this place! We came for the soft opening, then again about a month later to see how things were going, and then came back today! I must say, Pizzaiolo is our favorite Italian place on this side of 22. The food has always been top of the mark with us always taking home leftovers for the next day! The wine selection is fantastic and the service is always indisputable! We were served by Greyson during the soft opening and then Leann during our next few visits. The management here is also great! I have spoken to each of them each time as well! We can’t say enough good things about this place! Definitely come by if you’re looking for a great Italian dish! Tell them, Jeremy sent ya!

When we first got there, we told the hostess we had made reservations days in advance. Told her the name and time we placed them. She gave us some problems, but she sat us anyway. The place was 20% filled, so the look she gave us and the eye roll was unnecessary.

The hostess seated us at a table that had not been wiped off, so when when the waitress came around the first time we asked her if the table could be cleaned. It took a while, but someone eventually did come and clean it.

We ordered drinks which came quickly. We ordered food. It took almost an hour. Every table that came after us got their food before us. When our four dishes came out, 3 had steam coming off them and mine was cold. I asked for a new one. It came out two minutes later. Same dish, same guanciale on top. Not a noodle was stirred. All they did was microwave it. "Fine dining" I suppose. For those asking, I had the carbonara. It was not anything to write home about.

The prices are outrageous too, especially for pasta. Seriously, $30 dollars for a plate of pasta? When you leave a pasta restaurant with no left-overs after having to refinance your home, something is wrong.

The whole idea of not having bread on the table before a meal in an Italian restaurant is sacrilegious. Get with the program and put some bread on the table. Certainly will not hurt your $30 pasta dish margin.

I ordered a beer with dinner and before I finished it, the waitress brought me another. I did not want another nor did I say I did. Don't force drinks on people without their permission.

Lastly, it was very loud inside. My table of four had to scream at each-other just to talk. The atmosphere was 'eh' overall.

Unless someone is paying for me next time, I won't be returning.

My wife likes ala-vodka sause. Its not bad, but $30 for a mediocre portion of cheap noodles n sause? Really?

Other family just ate there. Soup too salty, sause too salty. How do you not TASTE these items before serving them? I dont get it.

We, the people of Murrysville, just want a few great fine dining options! Is that too much to ask? For consistency?

Juniper Grill, is PRETTY CONSISTANT, so they get our patronage.

The Coxcomb, other than French fries, is horribly inconsistent so we dont go anymore!

I hate to sound like a complainer, so I'll justify my complaints by offering advice.

TRAIN YOUR FOOD STAFF TO ALL BE CONSISTANT, and your establishment might survive.

And aside from "happy hour" prices, you just charge too much for what you get.

Food prices too much, drink prices too much. Its insane. You make $15 profit on a tiny $18 cocktail. How about "No!"

They see other restaurants doing it, so they just figure they can get away with it. What they dont know is that restaurants that CONSISTENTLY actually have FINE DINING, CAN get away with such. Right now, you can't.

To be fair they are new, and could be having some staff issues, but its been weeks already and we figure that should be worked out by now making this a management issue.

Fix your inconsistencies or your not going to make it!

Arancini is to die for. The marinara paired with it could go with ANYTHING we ate. It was delicious.
Peach Bellinis were heavenly. Classy and pretty. The pizza was good, we had the fungi one. It’s traditional, so we look forward to trying a more signature pizza. The crab artichoke dip was great but we got a lot a bread with a not much dip. We also look forward to trying their pasta. It looked bountiful. We will be back!

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Place was empty, only two tables filled. Hostess that seated us was training, but was super nice and friendly. Sat there for 15 minutes and no one had come to the table. Didn't seem to be a staffing issue, as there was plenty of staff working.

We got up and left. We won't be back. Maybe we'll try the next restaurant in this unit after this place goes out of business.

Had a decent experience with food & cocktails at the bar, some growing pains, but the bar manager recognized the issues and made good on them. So went back for a second time, seated at table in the bar area. I was part of a group celebrating a birthday. Atmosphere was so loud in it was hard to speak to others at our table. So some sound buffering needed in that area.

We were served our apps, but when the drinks came, the server accidentally dropped the tray hitting the table, glass breaking on the table, and drinks spilled on one of the guests. There was no immediate clean up, offer to first replace the apps, being glass flies when crashing on a table, nor was there was an offer to cover a round of drinks for the table of four. Being in the service business, I was shocked at the lack of professional response. Will not be going back.

We spent an evening with some family friends here for dinner. We did exercise reservations which was good. Surprisingly, for a Monday night it was packed! We were seated right way and the server was at our table within 5 minutes. The food did take a little more time than what was expected but not usually long. The food was divine! Cacio E Pepe Pasta dish was very disappointing. Lumpy, bland, lacked the normal amount of cheese and virtually no pepper.
Appetizer of fried zucchini was very well presented but it was excessively breaded and fried until it was almost dried out.

Have been looking forward to this place opening for some time and had high expectations since the menu looks fantastic, but unfortunately our dinner experience was disappointing.

Pizza was good (albeit quite small and simple for the price), but the bread was cold, as if straight from the fridge, despite server excusing the initial delay saying it was coming right out of the oven. Wine list/bar menu was entirely different from the website.

Overall felt very overpriced given the quality of food and atmosphere. It’s extremely bright and loud, feeling more like a crowded airport bar than a fine dining restaurant.

Left with the impression that reservations weren’t required so showed back up at an off peak time without one to give it another shot. Despite plenty of open seating and willingness to wait, were turned away because apparently reservations are required.

I was very disappointed. It was the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. The pizza had absolutely no taste and neither did the rigatoni. The meatballs tasted like they came from Sam's club. One of my fried cheese appetizer had no cheese in it but they did remake it. Prices are very high for basically Olive Garden food. Hopefully they can fix their issues.

The food was really underwhelming. Husband and I both ordered pasta dishes and they didn’t taste as well as I hoped for the expensive price. We did get the banana pepper appetizer which was delicious. Not sure if it’s just the pasta that is disappointing, would like to try the pizza at some point but it also seems overpriced.

For how much we paid for dinner here we should have went to a nice restaurant down town instead.
