I come here often and never had an experience like this before. I came into a restaurant with my friend and sat at the bar and we get an attitude from the bartender for ordering food at the bar. I never knew it was a problem to order food at the bar, it seems like he wanted us to only order drinks. We were rushed out even though we bought plenty of food and eventually bought drinks as well. They reached to grab our food even though we never said we were done to the bartender so why is someone coming out asking to bag our food? He was rude and he even threw a receipt in the air out of frustration I guess. We still were nice and even tipped at the end. Either way I still wanted to share my poor experience. The whole thing left a bad taste for me here.

What a gem in the inner city I would always walk past this place on my way home and never stopped to go in, I finally did and it was amazing we came for the festival and fro the moment we arrived the hospitality felt bubbly and inviting . The manager Jared made sure we got the spot we wanted to and the place was pretty busy I had the mussels to start and they were delicious I was shocked to see that menu style in a local bar my friends had the lamb burger and fish and chips all the food was good and presented perfectly the decorations were confusing but definitely a place to go drink eat and save a few dollars all the prices were reasonable check this place out

This is a great local bar and restaurant. It reminds me of my favorite local bar back in Virginia. Loved their music choices and art on the wall. We got the walnut apple arugula, salad with truffle vinaigrette dressing and it was excellent. We also got the lamb burger and salmon and they were both good but not great. Overall a nice spot we will frequent to continue trying things on the menu. The french onion soup, chili Thai wings and muscles are up next.

My husband and I have always loved North Third but when we experienced Dimitri’s service, it became a staple. He’s an incredible bartender and plays such good music- always a good vibe and atmosphere with him in the restaurant. We now go especially to be in his section and have a great time

I have gone here maybe once or twice a month since moving here and it is NEVER a miss.

The food, the drinks, the atmosphere/ambience - 10/10, all of it.

The sous chef puts their heart into the food and it tastes as such.

Can’t say too much about the food or service. This place looked nice for a Saturday afternoon outing, made reservations but unfortunately I should have done more research on the area. This business pretty much services locals, parking around here is non existent. Unfortunately me not knowing that costed me and my partner to walk in 10mins after our reservation time where we were promptly told we had to now wait 40 mins because of our 10 min lateness, can’t be to mad, because we where indeed late but I highly recommend you pick somewhere else to find you don’t live around here unless you plan to uber. Me and my coworkers (we are all in the service industry) went to this bar on a night out the bartender said he was cut an hour ago (which I know is a pain but he could have given us to someone else?) we were there probably another 30-45 minutes and he was looking at some of our other group at the table while cleaning the bottles. I said you can give us the check I’m sorry I’m not trying to keep you long. I pay leave a generous tip considering the circumstances and give the rest of the check to my friends. He’s rude to one of my coworkers and then once again I say I’m so sorry he ignores me then when I look away he picks up my empty cup and takes the extra money on top of my tip and leaves the cup. After what felt like a long wait (the kind where expectations start creeping up), we finally made it inside—and honestly, it was worth every minute. Our waitress deserves a shoutout right away—super friendly, always smiling, and genuinely happy to be there. That alone sets the tone for a great meal.

Now let’s talk food. We started with the 1 lb Thai chili wings and… OOOOMMMGGG. These were next-level. Perfectly crispy skin, juicy meat, and that sweet-and-tangy chili sauce hit all the right notes. Easy 9/10. The buffalo cauliflower came next—nice crunch on the outside, decent flavor, but a bit mild for my taste buds. Solid 6/10.

Then came the potato and Vermont cheddar pierogies. Soft, delicate dough stuffed with creamy potatoes and cheese, topped with caramelized onions that absolutely made the dish. Comfort food at its finest—9/10.

The undisputed champion of the night was the Bee’s Backyard Burger. One bite and it was game over. Juicy beef, Cooper sharp cheese, caramelized onions—pure mouth euphoria. A flawless 10/10. And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, the chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream sealed the deal. Warm, rich, indulgent—another 10/10 knockout.

Parking can be a little tricky, so plan ahead—but I’ll gladly deal with that to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu. This place is absolutely worth a return visit.

I have been going to North Third for several years now and am still blown away by this place - it’s incredible. Despite my sky-high expectations, North Third somehow gets better and better each time. It is EASILY hands-down the best place in Philly for wings. The special Hot Burger is also my favorite burger in the city. It’s absurd how good it is. I also love the special/seasonal salads and the Caesar salad (sometimes I get the Caesar add buffalo chicken cutlet), but honestly, everything I have had here has been insanely delicious and you really can’t go wrong with whatever you order. The late night menu is so clutch, and the staff is always super nice (even when we walk in right towards the end of late night - they always are welcoming). North Third has a special place in my heart and we are so lucky to have this establishment in the Northern Liberties neighborhood.

I'm really not sure how this place has gotten such high ratings but let's just say that I've eaten at places with 4.4 ratings that were much better. To start off I got a Coke to drink and it was quite flat. I ordered their popular Honey Dipped Chicken Sandwich and it wasn't just dipped in Honey, it was soaked. I like a little sweet with my savory but not like this. It tasted like sugary Chicken. I did notice a lot of liquid dripping off of the sandwich as well. I will say that the Pickles and the Fries were awesome though! Against my better judgment I got some dessert. I went with the Apple Crisp. While it was made in-house and some of it tasted decent, it was not sweet enough. It was definitely reheated in the microwave. It had a small taste of burnt like that of a bag of overcooked Popcorn. I really do believe that this is their standard and people around the area don't mind.

One of my favorite lowkey spots in no libs that I frequent for solo lunch or dinner. Steak frites, calamari, mac and cheese, pierogis, and fries are all consistently solid. Fruit pie with ice cream was a little underwhelming though. The pie kind of had the oily taste of an oven/broiler that hasn’t been cleaned properly. Their burger is also ok but it’s not breaking into the top 5 in the city for me.

Service is relatively good too. Only had one instance where i felt a little abandoned despite it not being busy but not a big deal or did it ever get to the point where i had to flag someone down.

Aside from that it’s a relatively consistent experience and the food is just generally solid. Nice little place to hit if you’re in the area.

This was one of the first restaurants we tried when we moved to the neighborhood and it’s been a regular spot for us ever since. I personally did not go to North third, but while I was in the hospital my fiance went there frequently. One of the bartenders names was Gabe, we called him Mango Gabe. Because I had to stay hydrated, and I had a Mango obsession. So Gabe would give my fiance a can of Mango Nector to bring me in the hospital. Food/Drinks: The menu is not extremely long and they rotate it with different specials menu on the daily. This restaurant is definitely great for brunch and dinner. I particularly think their brunch is better. Full bar (x2) and can make pretty much any drink you want. Their espresso martini is quite good. Neither expensive or cheap but right in the middle.

Environment/Ambience: The interior is larger than it seems with a larger dining area with the bar and a smaller side room with more tables and another bar. The vibe is rustic and moody, especially in the side room, during night but quite festive during the day. They have approximately 4-6 outdoor tables that are slightly covered and heated. Staff is nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Parking can be potentially tough but it's a great spot to walk to if you live nearby! You can also reserve a table!

I have to make my way back here. Steak frites was the best i had at any bar I’ve been to. Amazingly cooked steak how i wanted, sauce/gravy was delicious and savory, fries were hand cut and amazing. The capers gave it an added salty flavor. Just overall delicious meal and fulfilling.

My wife and I have been coming here for the past 22 years. Normally, most Friday's but it varies. Overall, the food is always very good, Dinner or brunch. Possibly the best brunch around. My favorite is the breakfast burrito and the eggs Verde, For dinner, try Peter's soups (the chef). Fantastic. The sea bass or trout are works of art. Garlic spinach and his garlic mashed are always welcome. Weekends are usually crowded and the food and prices are the reason. On Monday I had the Duck Cofit with spinach and duck fat roasted potatoes in a wine based sauce (I think). $27 and it was wonderful. Uhm holy hell… this food was SO GOOD! Decor 10/10 lol there’s a cool vibe in there that felt so good after a long day of work. We went for the restaurant week menu and woooow full drool thinking about it. How can an outside salad be so delicious?! We did the walnut goat cheese salad and would 100% recommend. I loved the filet mignon and mashed potatoes! That’s a beautifully plated dish. And wow the curry salmon skin was so crispy and delightful. Even the damn spinach was tasty. Would recommend the bread pudding over the apple crumb. Overall dope food time was had

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed North 3rd for many years, and my recent visit after a couple of years reminded me why I love this place so much. The servers are friendly and attentive, and the food is consistently outstanding.

The menu is packed with fantastic choices, making it hard to decide. Yesterday, we started with the fried calamari, which was perfectly cooked. The burger, with added bacon, is one of the best in the area. My friend had the steak frites, and the brandy green peppercorn sauce was absolutely on point. Another friend ordered the fish and chips, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and my wife raved about the salmon entrée. The cocktails were also exceptional. I’ll be back soon, and I’ve got my eye on that French onion soup next time!

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and while there were some highlights, a few aspects left me disappointed. The atmosphere was lovely, and I really enjoyed the buffalo wings and French onion soup—they were flavorful and well-prepared. However, the entrees were a letdown. I ordered the steak and fries, which was subpar—there were far more fries than steak on the plate, and the fries arrived cold. While the server replaced them, it dampened the experience. I also tried the crab sandwich, which was just mediocre and didn’t stand out. What really turned me off was a $5 surcharge for substituting a vegetable on my son’s entrée. He requested to swap spinach for broccoli, but we were not informed there would be an extra charge. When I brought this up to the server, she had no clear explanation. I even asked if we could just receive the original vegetable that came with the dish before leaving, but they refused. It felt unreasonable to charge for a substitution without notifying us, especially when we didn’t even get the full entrée as described.
Overall, I’d recommend enjoying the appetizers but be mindful of substitutions and ask thorough questions about charges and portions before ordering. This experience has made me hesitant to return again.

This was our first restaurant experience in Philly and it has been the home spot ever since. The food is undeniable scrumptious. The staff, they are weird and eclectic and really got a vibe going on. Most nights are a treat and you’re lucky they have a spot for you. Love these guys, keep killing it!!

We stopped by for brunch/lunch on a Saturday and had zero wait. The atmosphere is eclectic and fun, very cozy and reminded us of pubs in Ireland. We ordered two breakfast items, which tasted great and we loved both cocktails we tried. The menu was different in person than online. Staff were very nice as well. I did try to order scrambled eggs with mine, and they were very runny, so that was my only draw back. However, I would come here again to try more of their food.

There is definitely a new chef a few weeks ago I ordered cauliflower and the zucchini strips. They no longer have the zucchini strips but they had the cauliflower. When I came back to pick it up the cauliflower was so tiny and sucked! I paid $10 plus tip! Never again

We had the chicken and waffles, and biscuit and gravy. The chicken and waffles were good and the biscuit and gravy was okay. The margaritas was missing something. It just didn't taste right. The service was okay, felt rush once I was finished my food, but still had a full drink to finish. The place was not crowded or a line at that time. So I'm not sure why they kept asking was we okay. When it was clear that we was finished eating but still drinking and watching the game..

I would not recommend the honey dipped chicken sandwich, it was mostly skin, which I don’t want to eat, fried or not.

UPDATE: new owners and the food is not bad but not great. Used to be a great place for weekend brunch but the quality of the food and portions are less than acceptable. Varied food menu with about 10 specials besides their regular brunch offerings. My fav is the 'Bergen county', a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich on a brioche bun. It comes with cut fries that are perfectly cooked. The beer list is pretty good also. Service is amazing and the wait is usually about 20-30 minutes between 11:30a to 1pm every Sunday but once seated the turnaround is pretty good. Never had to wait longer than 10 minutes from order to serving. Only downside is the parking. You may have to go around the block a few times before you find a space.

My husband and I had dinner at North Third before a concert at The Foundry on a Friday night. We shared the Thai curry mussels and the lamb burger, as well as a shaker of blood orange margaritas. Everything was fantastic. We devoured every bit. Our server was attentive and friendly, and I appreciated that our plates were cleared quickly and our waters were frequently refilled. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cool and funky and we liked the music selection as well as the volume level of the music. We will definitely revisit North Third for dinner before future show at The Foundry or The Fillmore.
