This place is not Kingston anymore. I thought it was a bakery, but I found that it is not. I still patronized the black owned businesses ( glad to see a woman as well). The food was very good, I sampled the egg rolls. Just one thing, one egg roll is still one egg roll even when you cut it in half.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Cooks are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in philly please eat here and your food is always hot!

The oxtail platter was spoiled the gravy was bad I called them to inform them why did the food taste funny not the same as last couple of time the strawberry cake I dig right me to eat some it was rotten I been in the bathroom since 2/13/21. Been food poisoning I been vomiting and Diarrhea bad every since then still today I can’t eat nothing 2/15/21 I send them messages no contact they knew something was bad about that food and don’t buy the strawberry desert if it don’t have Expiration date on it it was not on the package and that was strange as well

Ms. Sophie's oxtails are absolutely the best. That's all I eat from Kingstons, because I can't get pass it. I moved from the area and just happened to be in the neighborhood yesterday. Kingston's, was my first stop. Let me tell you, nobody is touching her and her oxtails. Honey, I was dancing through every bite. I ask for extra, extra, spicy, and she slices some kind of hot peppers and puts it in, which also gives it extra flavor. Mmm!! I love Ms. Sophie, she is also a sweet heart. I hope she never moves her restaurant because I'll be devastated.

They never answer and you have to wait an hour for food. Also if you don't like large orders, then don't have them as an option(everytime I have a larger order). I would give zero stars , had prior customer service . I ordered online thru grub hub, they took my payment , the time they was suppose to come they didn’t so I called. He says he never got the order and to check to see if I’m calling the right store. Ling story short told me get my money back from grub hub and blamed the internet wouldn’t make my food or deliver it but after all that I didn’t want food . First time customer and I won’t be back . Got my refund and they also got my money smh.

The food is OK. I ordered stewed chicken, yam, potato salad, and macaroni. The yam is very sweet. The macaroni isn't complete trash like Jamaican D's. The portions are very small in comparison to nearby competitors. Not worth going again.

My boyfriend had ordered some food from this place I wanted to try.... I was hungry and I just got off from work. Once I opened my food it had a strong smell of pneumonia. The food was no good...the smell literally matches what it taste like.
They also gotten me a ginger beer, but I ordered a fruit punch. The ginger beer was disgusting. It was so bad that I had to brush my teeth again. Tasted like they used the ginger beer to cook there rice and jerk chicken.
If you want jerk chicken I'd advise you not to go here.
Smells nothing like jerk chicken nor taste like it.
A few hours later at midnight I woke up with a stomach virus.
Went on for a whole week.

The food at Kingston City, is by far the BEST Jamaican food on the market! The portions are huge, the flavor reminds me of My Mothers cooking. I would advise you to order ahead, as you would with any other restaurant if you are going to pick-up, however delivery is also available. BEST JAMAICAN food in the city of Philadelphia! Hands down!

I have been eating here for about 10 years and this is the best Jamaican food I've had in any part of the city. I literally go back to my old neighborhood just to get a taste because no one else has topped their flavors to me. The flavors are great, the consistency perfect, the prices are reasonable and the portions are fair. It is a family restaurant and you will know it after one taste because they put so much care into their food. This is not the place to go for fast food...if it were the food would be just sitting around waiting for you all day and be old by the time you get it. If you want the best I suggest ordering about 20 minutes ahead of picking up or 40 min ahead if having it delivered just like you would a pizza place where they make everything fresh for you. The food has a fresh look and fresh taste every time period so I don't understand people complaining about time. Time equals care and I would rather have my food melt in my mouth after waiting a half hour than to eat somewhere else where my food has sat around all day or has been thrown together like other places I've been.
I've tried everything from the oxtails, mac n cheese, cornbread, beans and rice, stew chicken, fish, pork and beef ribs, cakes, I mean everything...they really put their heart into their food. More importantly they are pleasant to work with and they keep their kitchen clean. It is it is always a good experience. If you have not tried Kingston City go now!

Ok I bought 2 platters one was this oxtail w rice and another w pork rib and mac & cheese. The ribs were burn crisp black on side and meat hard to eat & mac& cheese hard the only good thing was collard green. Truefuly I never boughtburn food before. The lady was nice but she keep the food in front her intil I payed and she tie the bag closed so I couldn't look at it. And it had a smell but I thought it was the oxtail I never had them before. So I was shock when I got home and seen my food burned. NEVER TRUST NOBODY. LOOK BEFORE YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING. That was my 19 dollars lesson learned.
