We came on the transit near Scranton and choose this place to experience local favorite Italian. The service was very nice and the atmosphere is as expected to be full with locals. However, the food was far below my expectations. They’re not bad, eatable but not special. Almost everything slightly over seasoning, even calamari was too salty, fries were undercooked and all pasta generally overcooked. Seafood bisque was very light but still taste good. Fettuccine Alfredo and shrimp scampi was blend, and chicken Marsala was a disaster and came in an almost unrecognizable taste. Hopefully this is just because they have big party and all tables occupied causing overwhelmed cooking line. As much as I like to be generous to rate local businesses, this is not more than 4 stars experience

I hate writing this, but I recently changed my original five star review to three stars in hopes that someone sees this. This was the second time in about a month that we stopped in on a very quiet Wednesday evening for a quick bite since the restaurant is so close to our house.

Because it was so slow, the lack of attentiveness was very noticeable. We received our first drinks and then placed our order, but by the time our food arrived the adults were already out of drinks. Since different staff members were running food, we were unable to order more until much later. It was also clear that most of the staff were gathered at the front bar, out of view, chatting with other guests.

We had no issues with the quality of the food and have always enjoyed our meals. We eventually finished, but our check was never brought to the table and had to go to the front counter to retrieve and pay. We still hope to continue supporting this local restaurant and just hope the service improves, especially on quieter nights.

I usually don't leave these type of reviews but I feel as if the owners need to know about my experience. I am confused by the four and five star reviews of this place. My family and I were here for a late afternoon lunch and were one of two tables in the entire place. My father-in-law ordered the steak and cheese egg rolls and they were deep-fried to the point of being burnt hockey pucks. In addition, I ordered the chicken marsala and the covetelli marinara. The marinara sauce was highly acidic and tasted like the can it came out of. It also had an overpowering taste of oregano. Oregano is great on pizza but I definitely do not want it to be the prominent flavor in a marinara. The chicken marsala was a bunch of chicken tenderloins cut into cubes and was sitting in a very gummy starchy (again with the oregao) unpleasatly pungeant-tasting sauce that was very unappetizing. Unfortunately, I feel as if the place would be really good if they kept doing what they're doing as far as the pizza is concerned, but their saute cooks need a lesson in sauces and seasoning; and their short order cooks need to pay attention to the deep fryers. Perhaps maybe the owners are good business people and not culinary pros? Did the trained chefs abandon ship during the pandemic? Honest to God, I would love the opportunity to train these cooks and teach them how to make these simple dishes correctly. Also, I think that for the amount of food served they could charge the same price if it was prepared better and cut the portions.

Overall super slow service, though, which can make the experience a very negative one. Give yourself plenty of time if you visit this restaurant. First of all the pizza is the best of its style in NEPA, hands down. This would score high with that whack fool from barstool. But the reason I’m writing this review is because of how friendly and helpful the staff was. I drove about 25 minutes to get there and rolled in accidentally without my wallet. I asked if they accept Apple Pay and explained my situation. (They do not accept Apple Pay) The staff started talking to each other to figure out a solution, and to shorten a long story, they really went out of their way to come up with a digital payment solution without making me drive all the way back home, and they were very understanding and did not act inconvenienced for a second. Most pizza places in this area would not have given us the same courtesy. 10/10 definitely visit this place. It has never been a disappointment once and I’ve been going periodically for at least a decade.

Have not have Armetta’s in a long time so I was excited to order take out. I ordered a cobb salad because I wanted the homemade creamy garlic dressing. It is soo good. BUT when I opened my order at home there was NO dressing for the salad. So disappointing. The cucumbers were soggy and the avocado was bad. We also got a steak and cheese stromboli which looked amazing when we opened the box but unfortunately there was barely any steak, all cheese. Bummed out over the whole experience.

Today is one of the busiest days of the year for restaurants and they were busy!! Our pizza wasn't ready when we arrived to pick it up, so they asked what the number of our parking spot was and they brought it out to is so we did not have to stand in the entry way. One of my favorite pizza places in the area. Nothing fancy, but just really good classic pizza. They have a good selection of toppings also. I've never been disappointed here. They have a tinnnyyy bar, like 4 seats. I get a drink there and sit while I wait for my order usually. My boyfriend and I have sat at the bar and ate, but I don't think anyone else does. The food was good...... if you eat in because you get bigger entree.... I ordered shrimp Alfredo pasta for dinner on Sunday and got 8 shrimps in the pasta. They were very good and tasty....I couldn't finish it... I had to take home half of it for my lunch the next day.

But when I called in on the following Tuesday and asked if I ordered a take out, will it be the same portion, they told me yes it would be. When I pick up my take out and got to work. I opened the container, it has 6 shrimp and half of what I got last Sunday
I am not impressed with that and phone in to complain.

They told me that I wasn't supposed to get 8 on Sunday. They didn't even fix it or make it right.... I am not impressed with take out..... suggest that you eat in!!!!

Really gone downhill. I ordered an Italian Salad, pizza to go and a Miller Light Beer yesterday. The beer was flat and I think the system needed to be cleaned because it was flat and did not taste good. The salad was ok, but the chicken was overcooked , cry and I could not hardly cut through to smaller pieces. I ordered a pizza to go for my family and it was terrible. Shame on the new owners. They are riding on their previous owner's reputation. They either need to step up or give it up. I will not eat there again. Generally I really enjoy this restaurant. But tonight was a horrible experience. I ordered food that was going to take about an hour and a half I waited 2 hours and then was told it was going to take another 20 minutes. Furthermore when ordering the The food over the phone they added items. Which I wasn't too worried about paying for. But after having to wait 20 extra minutes I asked for a refund and explained to them the situation. They were very unapologetic. And the woman that was helping me out said she wasn't the one on the phone. I've been a patron there for almost 25 years now and I've never received such a low level of service.

Armetta's is a fine family establishment. My family and I recently had my goddaughters 1st birthday party here and the staff was more than accommodating. They offered to help set up, clean up, they ushered guests to the party area, they even accepted cake when offered. What truly made the party a success, other than the staff, was the food! The pizza and garlic knots where delicious. We went home with 2 slices of pizza and anyone who has every thrown a party knows that approximately 8 trays were ordered. If you have not given this place a try yet, you NEED to!

My husband and I ordered Chicken Marsala and unfortunately what we received wasn't even close. We got the salad and the entree at the same time so we really couldn't eat much of the salad because the entree would get cold. We didn't have any silverware or napkins so I had to go find some. The "marsala" was more like boiled chicken soup. It didn't taste anything like marsala which does have a very distinct flavor. The waitress was very friendly though and noticed we didn't eat much of our meal and notified the manager. The manager did come over and ask if we'd like to have something else but we declined. Such good pizza! The crust on the round pies is not super thin: it is nice and crisp on the outside and the right amount of chewy on the inside. We were on the road coming from Niagra Falls going to New York City. It was getting late and we didn't want a chain pizzeria. We called ahead from the road for 2 large, one item pizzas to be ready in about 45 minutes for pick-up. The pizzas were ready and we added about a half dozen pops which came to about $50. The pizzas were good, nice crispy crust and decent amount of toppings, but a little pricey for one item each I think. We just used the restrooms and carried out our order but for a pub I thought it appeared very bright, clean and family friendly. They had a bar but also had alcohol and pop options in a cooler for purchase to go. The person who helped us with our order was very helpful and friendly.

Armetta's is an old favorite. The square pizza is as good as any in the region. The round thin crust is better than good. The specialty seafood pizza is delicious; tiny shrimp and minced clams with olive oil and cheese. The meat lovers is laden heavily with bacon, sausage, ham, and meatballs. Two slices of it and you can't eat any more. Go. Eat. Be happy.

We hadn't been here in several years. We wanted to try someplace we hadn't been to in a while. Well, we were very disappointed. We came before the crowds. Our waitress (an older lady) was cold and unfriendly. It was like this was the last place she wanted to be. My wife ordered eggplant parmigiana - cold and all cheese. More eggplant in a tv dinner. My mother-in-law ordered veal marsala which was also cold. Both were sent back and returned to us just as it was without an increase in temp. Both were boxed up and taken home. I had the seafood fra diablo. It was good but for $14.95 it was puny...3 pieces of small shrimp, 2 scallops and 3 clams and some linquini. At least mine was hot. When the crowd showed up we learned the secret: Pizza - YES! Subs - YES! Good hot Italian meal - NO! Can you say Gordon Ramsey?

Chicken Parm is ok but the pizza is where its at. Both the buffalo chicken wing pizza and the bbq chicken wing pizza are to die for. Crust is not to soft not to hard. Pizza also reheats really well with a toaster oven. 10/10 for pizza other foods are like a 7/10.

We ordered eggplant parmesan & fettucine alfredo. The 2 most SIMPLE of dishes! Neither of which was right. Really, did they need to microwave the eggplant? And could they cook the fettucine a minute more??
We were disgusted!!
Oh ... most importantly, I should mention the couple that sat next to us, as the woman was obviously sick, while her husband just glared at anyone wondering. This woman filled the room with the smell of VICKS & was so enormous that she had a bib on to catch the food that didn't make it to her mouth! Her husband continued to simply glare at anyone wondering. We will NEVER eat here again!!!

Good Italian dishes all the favorite and main courses. Absolute no smoking! Different options in style of pizzas being served, as in thin crust, raised dough, both round.
